These summer hols have been great, both for Lil D and for me.
She has been playing non-stop with her friends, and even as I write this, they are all rolling with laughter at some perfectly inane thing. Sometimes, I really envy her. Imagine getting up in the morning, and the only thing on your mind is to when to get together with friends and play! What a life! No fretting about schedules or deadlines or money or other adult life issues. I’m sure she has her sad moments, the chief being that I’m not allowing her to play for “just five more minutes” at 9pm! I am happy for Lil D, for she will always have these great childhood memories.
For me, it’s been great, because I got to meet with my friends and family. My routine included large chunks of alone-time, which has been so hard to come by these past few years. I can see how they are only going to expand now, till my entire day will be alone time 😦 But this time I really liked the fact that I had some time to myself, and I could do things that I had always deferred earlier. Like lazing around, doing absolutely nothing! 😀
So the hols are almost over now, Lil D will be back to the school routine, and everything will be done with an eye on the clock. Sigh.
