Saw Chandni Chowk to China for a variety of reasons, and strangely enough, quite enjoyed it. There was never a dull moment, laughs were a-plenty (quite a few unintended), and Lil D provided plenty of entertainment too. Why is he always crying, she muses aloud, when Akshay sheds tears for the nth time. I thought it was a great time-pass paisa-vasool movie, made pretty well, with a good mix of the Chinese and Indian stereotypes. And thankfully no Danny Denzongpa.
What was really funny were the different ring-tones in the theater that provided unlikely background music to the scenes. Guzarish from Ghajini, Hole Hole from Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi – all at perfectly incongruous moments. How they manage such choreographed calls is a mystery!
